Frequently Asked Questions!

Detoxing has become a popular trend over the past few years, it has become somewhat of a fad. An important thing to remember is that a good detox should be focused on making you healthier by removing built up toxins, not putting your body into starvation mode, and not promising a quick fix.

Why should I detox?

It’s no secret we live in an extremely toxic world from the food we eat, to the products we apply, to the air we breathe – our bodies are flooded with toxins on a daily basis. Without proper detoxification, a buildup of toxins in our body can cause:  Unexplained weight gain, exhaustion, bloating, headaches, difficulty sleeping and moods swings to name a few.

Can my body eliminate these toxins on its own?

The answer to this question is yes, in moderation, our bodies are designed to detoxify and self-cleanse. However, because there are so many toxins in the world and because most of us don’t fuel our body with the proper nutrition, our bodies cannot cleanse as they were originally designed to. Therefore, our bodies rely on support to renew and restore.

How does the detox work?

Once you have committed to a start date, it’s important to use the days leading up to the detox, ideally 3-5, to transition. This means take that time to wean yourself away from the common allergens, the ones that make us grumpy, sick, heavy, and tired, such as processed foods, wheat, gluten, dairy, etc.

The program is divided into 3 phases:

Pre-detox/Prep (3-5 days)

Detox (7 days)

Transition (7 days)

Phase 1 – Pre-Detox/Prep

You will spend the first phase of the program preparing your body and kitchen for the detox. You will start to eliminate a list of common allergenic foods, such as coffee, alcohol, etc. and introduce delicious nutrient dense whole foods. During this phase, you can pick and choose your meals and snacks from over 50+ tasty recipes.

Phase 2 – Detox

For 7 days, you will follow the daily protocol outlined in your materials and eat the suggested breakfasts, lunches, and dinners that have been suggested for you. During this phase, you will eliminate common allergenic foods and take advantage of several detox support tools that push out the toxins and support overall wellness. By doing this you will help restore your gut, reduce your sugar cravings, strengthen your cells and regain control of your body. Ideally, this program lasts 7 days; if you don’t have time, feel free to do it for a shorter period of time. Remember, this is your detox.

Phase 3 – Transition

During this phase, you will reintroduce certain foods on a day-by-day basis using the suggested meals in your materials. During the reintroduction, it’s important to listen to your body and take note of how your body is reacting to each food. It is here that we often uncover potential hidden food allergies. Typically, this phase lasts for 7 days but if you are suffering from severe digestive issues I encourage you to extend this period. Again, do what is right for you.

How Often Should I Detox?

Just as it’s important to maintain a healthy diet to help keep the body clean and balanced, it’s important to detoxify the body. Ideally, we should do some sort of detoxification and give our system a boost at least once a year; I enjoy doing seasonal detoxes. They help prevent the buildup of toxins in the body, maintains quality health, and can help prevent diseases.

Who are you and what do you do as a coach?

I’m Tara by the way – a Certified Health and Wellness Coach and Culinary Nutrition Expert, and founder of Healthy Living with Tara. When I turned 43 my health was a mess! I was overweight, exhausted, disconnected, dealing with Hashimoto’s, adrenal fatigue, leaky gut, SIBO (Small intestine bacterial overgrowth) and Candida. I knew things had to change. Becoming a health coach was the BEST thing I ever did. Not just for myself, but for my family, and for my life.

I’m now on a mission to help women reclaim their health, and zest for life, no matter what their age. I help educate women about healthy eating/detoxes and lifestyle choices so they can lose weight and put an end to their mid-life symptoms. My goal is to show you that healthy living doesn’t have to be difficult or overwhelming.

Should I Consult My Doctor Before I Join?

While this program is based on eating only whole foods, I still advise that you consult your physician before beginning this or any program.
